With a few remnant mosquito bites and damp camping gear, photographer and birder Zachary Wakeman recently returned from four days exploring the Moose River Plains Wild Forest. The region’s southeast of Inlet and it’s filled with ponds, boreal habitats, mountains, and rivers. As Wakeman says, “the area has quite and array of habitats in relatively close proximity…very ideal for a photographer.”

Zachary Wakeman shares who’s out and about this time of year in a collection of photos from his trip.  For a full-screen slideshow, click on the bottom-right collection of arrows – highly recommended!
