There’s a sweet scent in the open fields of the Adirondacks right now.  The milkweed plant, with its pink blossoms, is in full bloom. But despite its alluring scent, the milkweed is unappealing to most wildlife.   Tom and Jackie Kalinowski take to the fields to show you more about this unique plant. They explore how certain insects like the Monarch Butterfly have been able to adapt to the milkweed’s defenses.  Here’s “Nature in the Adirondacks.”  (7:47)   You can expand the video to full-screen by clicking on the bottom right square.
